laptophuntLaptop Deal Hunt is an independent UK hobby project. It shows refurbished, used and open-box laptops from a small set of established refurbishment sellers on eBay UK, and compares them with new prices at UK retailers.
Why it exists
Refurbished laptops can be excellent value, but it is hard to tell how good a deal really is. A listing might say "was £1,200", yet the same laptop may sell new today for far less, or not at all. This site tries to answer a simple question with evidence: how much cheaper is this refurbished laptop than the same configuration bought new, right now?
To do that, we check retailer prices on the retailers' own product pages and only show a saving when the new laptop has the same processor, RAM and storage. The details are on how we check prices.
What the site does
- Keeps a searchable catalogue of listings from selected eBay refurbishment sellers, checked regularly through the day.
- Reads the specs from each listing and ranks laptops by value: performance for the price.
- Compares them with new prices at UK retailers such as Currys, Laptops Direct, Box, Argos, Amazon, Lenovo, Laptop Outlet and Costco.
- Publishes plain-English buying guides.
What it does not do
- No hands-on reviews. We don't test laptops. Everything comes from listings and retailer pages.
- No stock or price guarantees. Listings sell and prices change. Always confirm the details with the seller before buying.
- Partial coverage. We follow a small set of sellers and a limited list of retailers, so there will be deals we don't show.
- We don't sell anything. You buy directly from eBay sellers or retailers, under their terms.
Money and independence
The site has no affiliate links at the moment and nobody pays to be included. If that changes, links will be clearly marked and commission will never affect which offers appear or their order. See our affiliate disclosure and privacy notice.
